One day I was
Busily typing at the computer
And just as I saved my
Document
Two people
Sprang from the screen
I immediately knew who they were
I see them every day
One girl and one boy
Not seeming to see me
In the way I saw them
They seemed
See-through
Ethereal
Maybe if I write more they’ll
Come alive
I write down what they do
Everything I hear them say
I’d offer them my bed to sleep on but they
Seem comfortable on the couch.
That’s ok.
Of course, I can’t really sleep on that old thing anyway.
It's much too uncomfortable.
And if I can’t sleep I won’t dream
And if I won’t dream I don’t know what will happen next.
I see them in my dreams, too.
It sounds strange, but ah -
To be a writer.
